For Bhavan's and Bright School alumni
Hi Baroda. I tried hard not to make this look like a love letter, but I
just have to say this: I Love Baroda. I have lived all my 22 years in Baroda,
did my schooling from Bhavans and Bright and did my B.E from Vidyanagar (yes I
commuted). I am in Houston doing my Masters in Electrical Engineering. It's
been four months and it seems like years already. Everything about Baroda is
so special, everything so very Dil Se!! I miss the Baroda sun, the Baroda
rains (yeah and everything attached to it ... the samosas, the gotas and sev
usal). I miss the chaos of Mandvi, the larris, the fooling around in Fatehgunj,
the Kamatibaug (yeah also the zoo), the gangofying near Home Science every
evening, the Hansa Mehta ... this could go on and on. Hey one more .... the
sunset never looks so wow from any other place in the world as from Sindhrot.
But there's one thing that bothers me: I believe Baroda was featured on CNN
for the alarming increase in pollution, and that makes me sad. We don't want
that to happen to Baroda, do we? If there is anybody or any organisation
trying to fight this please let me know. If there isn't anybody yet, let's
start a campaign ourselves. Everybody loves his/her city, but let's confess
it now ... we Barodians love it like life! Always a Barodian …

For
all Barodians in general
This message is not for some individual, but I miss Baroda and thought I
would just post a message for all Barodians in general. I am in the US right
now but I am from Baroda. Friends, all of us here who are from Baroda really
miss the city that is so unique and unforgettable. Recently I had a chance
to go to a local Navratri festival here in the US. Though this festival had
Indian film stars coming in, it seemed so bland when compared to our local
Navratri festivities in Baroda! I hope I would be able to visit this
wonderful city in the near future. Please take care, all of you Barodians.
Warm regards, Abhijeet
